Creede Community Church, UCC
Theology & Worship
The Creede Community Church tends to be quite diverse theologically and socially. Only a few of our members were raised in the United Church of Christ, with the rest of us coming from many faith traditions. Many of our seasonal attendees are Associate Members, retaining membership elsewhere while considering CCC their second home.
Creede Community Church gathers for worship at 11:00am each Sunday. We serve open Communion on the second Sunday of each month. In worship, we use "The Worshiping Church" hymnal and a range of songs available from CCLI. Our main bible translation (in the pews, as well as in Sunday School and youth group) is the Contemporary English Bible.
Children ages 2-10 worship with their families for the beginning of the service, then follow a volunteer to their Sunday School program halfway through the service. On Communion Sundays, they return to receive the sacrament along with the rest of the congregation.
We are a United Church of Christ congregation and a member of UCC's Rocky Mountain Conference. Our immediate region within the Rocky Mountain Conference is called the Southeastern Association.
We seek to embody the UCC spirit of "extravagant welcome" for all who visit. We are enriched by each person among us, across the full range of ability, party affiliation, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or any other social distinction. Whether you are a year-rounder, seasonal, or one-time visitor to God’s country, consider yourself invited! May you join us in worship and fellowship that is vital, meaningful, and grace-filled, where all may experience the power and presence of Christ.
